Technologies such as cyber-physical systems, internet of things, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence popularization have made smart factory tangible not only for large enterprises, but also for a wide range of industries. However, it still takes high investments to turn a 3.0-aged industry into a 4.0 industry, making economic viability dependent on best use of the assets. Thus, engineering asset management is key to make the industry 4.0 a reality in all areas. The UFMS - Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul and The ISEAM – International Society of Engineering Asset Management invite all professionals from industry, academia, and government to participate in the WCEAM 2020 - The 15th World Congress on Engineering Asset Management to take place in Bonito-Brazil, on August 16-19th 2020. WCEAM-2020 will be a high quality technical forum to address technical and economic issues related to engineering of asset management mainly focused on industry fourth revolution. It will encompass a broad range of sectors such as: oil & gas, nuclear, electricity, renewable energy, ocean & maritime, mining, public infrastructures transportation, process industry, construction, healthcare, aeronautics and aerospace, information and telecommunication.

Authors should select one of the following categories for their contributions:

Category A (Academic Research Papers - 8-12 single column pages)

Established researchers, Doctoral and Master degree candidates are invited to submit papers describing their research. Such research contributions may be based on conceptual/theoretical, empirical/experimental, or application/practical studies.

Category B (Preliminary/ Work in Progress Papers - 4-6 single column pages)

This category is for studies which are either at the preliminary or work in progress stage. Very early stage researchers such as final year undergraduate students are encouraged to develop poster presentations of their projects.

Category C (Industry Contributions – abstract only)

This category of papers will be for presentation only. Industry practitioners are particularly encouraged to contribute evidence of challenges encountered in practical asset management situations.

The scope of WCEAM 2020 encompasses, but is not limited to, the following major topics:

  • Asset valuation, acquisition, and disposal options
